We headed out to the Blarney Castle after a lovely breakfast followed by tea and swing in the garden. Joe and I had been to the castle before so neither of us were interested in kissing the Blarney stone. Joe would never have made it up and down the stairs and I just can't put my head upside down like that any more. After making it to the top of the castle, Casey kissed the Blarney stone. Shea, who isn't terribly fond of heights, watched the procedure for some moments and then decided to give it a pass. We were hoping he'd do it so we could see if the stone actually does has magical properties to bestow the gift of gab. We toured the Blarney House as well where the owners of the castle still live - no photos allowed in there, but it was very impressive. Now we are at the Clarion Hotel by the Dublin Airport. Tomorrow we'll take a bus into Dublin for one last day of touring around the city. Hard to believe almost two weeks have gone by already.
Casey drinking tea on the swing. Every movement brought a soft flutter of flower petals from the tree.
Shea more spinning than swinging.

In the castle - one of the many nooks.
Casey kissing the Blarney stone.
Shea not kissing the Blarney stone.
Heading down the bigger spiral staircase. To get to the stone you climb up 4 stories on a spiral staircase that is half the size of this one that you climb down after kissing the stone. That one is so narrow it has a rope to hold onto because the metal handrail wouldn't fit in the space.
The Blarney House - it is hard to imaging living here!
