Today we mostly got a car and drove to Galway, an adventure all in
itself, but after the car and before Galway, we went to the zoo. The
best fun was the adolescent and baby Sulawesi macaques (also known as
crested black macaques). I had to drag the kids away when it was time
to go. Also exciting, Joe noticed that the tea room outside the zoo had
gluten free pastries. The first we've found in Ireland where most
waiters look at us like they've never heard of celiac disease.
Penguins are always cute.
The young ones playing and wrestling and having great fun, but notice the little baby in the mom's arms.
Close up on the baby.
This clever old orangutan has learned he will get food thrown to him with this move. He's a good catch too, although the young one was hoping he'd miss.
I've always loved ring tailed lemurs.
