It was back to work today. Strange to be there after 2 weeks away. I thought I would blog a bit about how much of the USA has invaded Ireland and also some helpful signs. We ate at McDonald's, Burger King, Subway and Pizza Hut. McDonald's Ireland style includes porridge (oatmeal) for breakfast, onion rings (quite good) and a series of "American" style hamburgers - they were featuring a Chicago burger. They also have a Disney store on Grafton street (the major shopping area in Dublin). My favorite were the helpful signs - especially the "Look Right" or "Look Left" on the ground at crosswalks - you know that is for tourists, the Irish know which way to look for the traffic - and the arrows circled in blue pointing to which lane you belong in. Certainly the natives think that the pedestrian crossing signals are for tourists only as I observed them crossing at will.

The Irish take their recycling very seriously and want you to make the effort to sort your trash - wet and dry. It was a little confusing at times.
