Today was the last day of the conference. Very sad to say good bye to friends I see once in a blue moon, or more like 25 years ago in the case of Betty Yerxa. I especially enjoyed the presentation by Bel Youngson who did art as a method of understanding the thesis process (well in the U.S. it would be dissertation process) and it turns out she is also researching diabetes self-management. So maybe I made a UK connection. It was drizzly, rainy on and off all day but I was able to walk home from the conference and then Dad and I walked to a recommended Italian restaurant for dinner. The Ristorante Rossini. The minestrone soup was delicious and lasagna was good if not "Americanized". We have been hearing about the upcoming All Ireland Hurling finals in which the Cork team will be competing. If you don't know anything about hurling - this is a great explanation on YouTube. You will notice the many red and white checked flags hanging from windows in support of the Cork hurling team whose nicknames include: The Rebels, The Leesiders, The Blood and Bandage, and The People's Republic.
The OT faculty who ran the conference getting their thanks in flowers
Okay I had to put in at least one flower picture - you can tell it's been raining.

Pretty fancy veterinarian - I can't tell if it's the whole building or just a room or two
