Forsythia

I have to admit that before the boys gave Ember Jane the name of Forsythia, I really didn't know what it was. I was so tickled to realize as Spring has started to spring forth here in Kentucky, that there are Forsythia everywhere here and that we have several Forsythia bushes here on our property (The first two pictures).

Here is the Wikipedia description of Forsythia...Forsythia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Oleaceae (olive family). There are about 11 species, mostly native to eastern Asia, but one native to southeastern Europe. The common name is also Forsythia; the genus is named after William Forsyth... I think the kind here in Kentucky are these ... Forsythia suspensa is a shrub that is native to China. This species is spontaneous in Arkansas and spontaneous or naturalized in several other states in the US.

Happy Spring Ember Jane Forsythia

I took the next two pictures at EKU
