The Arlington

This is the Arlington - antebellum mansions here in Richmond that has been turned into a country club famous for it's golf course. Golfing is very popular here (I've been asked a number of times by new acquaintances if I golf). I have now been here twice. Once in the evening for a cultural event sponsored by EKU and once to have a lunch meeting. It is very beautiful inside and I was happy to have the opportunity to take some pictures on the second visit. They don't quite do it justice - for example, I forgot to take a picture of the lovely wooden floors with inlaid designs - maybe next time. We'll be meeting there again this Friday.

This is where you enter the mansion, but may not have been the original entry way.

The two story columns look more like the original front of the mansion.

This little side room with all the windows is where we ate and had our meeting

Two of my new coworkers - one with her son, he comes to many of our faculty meetings. This is the room where we ate.

A hutch.

A side room - if you click on it to look at the bigger version, you can see some of the wooden flooring design.
The buffet table just past one of the beautiful chandeliers.

A Grandfather clock

The Audubon paintings.
