Some more Kentucky firsts...we went the annual Spoonbread Festival in Berea. Spoonbread is a kind of corn bread that is sweeter and moister than regular cornbread and has kind of a bread pudding texture to it - very tasty. Clogging is kind of a mix between Irish step dancing, tap dancing and occasional square dancing.
A woman at the fair was using this torso she decorated to advertise a fund raiser that she is having to raise money for breast cancer.
Berea College has an eco-friendly apartment complex (Ecovillage) and this is one of the ways they do waste treatment.
Friday night we had a family dinner, Rembold and Pierce / Roberts and we had a fire as well. I made stew with fresh veges from the garden and Doris made a traditional cornbread baked in an iron pan in the oven.
