My time use so far
The left wall is actually a bit darker than it looks. Everyone stopped by today to see. So - a week ago Monday I flew in from Phoenix. Tuesday I looked at houses in the morning. The second house seemed like a keeper, but I had to look at a few more to be sure. Tuesday afternoon I went to EKU. It was raining a bit and I walked between three different buildings to get my new ID, check in with payroll, Human resources and Parking...back at Dizney (the OT building) there was a going away party for one of the administrative assistants where I got to meet some of my new co-workers. One of the faculty members told me she had seen the perfect house for me down the block from her house - it turned out to be the keeper! Wednesday I looked at a few more houses in the morning as well as the keeper and in the afternoon I put in an offer on the house we are buying - yes, the second house I looked at. Thursday it was back to EKU to set up my benefits and to move furniture around my office in preparation for painting. Also I picked up my paycheck, opened a new bank account at Chase, got the earnest money for the realator and some where in there talked to the mortgage guy. I can't remember what all I did on Friday besides buy all the stuff I needed to paint my office and go to the post office to get our mail forwarded. Apparently you can't get a post office box unless you own property, in which case we won't need one. So for now, our mail is going to General Delivery at the Richmond post office. There is only one post office. I think Friday was also the day I signed a bunch of papers at the mortgage firm. Saturday I spent much of the day taping the walls of my office in preparation of painting. Then Doris and I drove out to a farm to buy the makings of the salsa and in the evening I went to Cindy's house for a 'Source' get together of women, a number of whom teach at EKU, but not in the OT department. After staying up until about 2 AM, I got up and painted the first 3 walls of my office. Monday I painted the last wall, the accent wall, in the morning; made and canned salsa in the afternoon and finished putting on the second coat on the last wall and in the evening I took off the last of the painter's tape, cleaned up the mess and finished moving the furniture around. So all was beautiful and ready for work this morning - my first official day in my office. Somewhere in between all this, I found hotels for Joe and Shea, looked up directions and emailed it all to Shea. They are currently in Oklahoma City and will head for Little Rock tomorrow.

WOW!! I got tired reading all of your ambitious and successful activities. The whirlwind reminded me of when our kids were tiny and everything needed to be done yesterday. The house looks charming. Congratulations. It sounds like you know how to make your office a cozy home. I'm sure you'll enjoy nesting in your own home even more!!
