Although you can't see them well in this artistic photo, the wood of the cross and the priest's chair, as well as the alter and the podium, were made by a Welsh artisan who works locally out of a walnut tree they took down when they built this new church. (It's about 6 years old) A retired nun who taught for many years at Berea College made the Christ figure hanging on the cross.
This is the holy water font at St Clare's Catholic Church in Berea. Many things at St. Clare's, like the font, were made by local artisans. Some of whom trained at Berea College.
As you drive along the freeways, you might have an accident trying to look at these pretty paintings of quilts on the sides of barns. The story is that the quilt painting is a representation of a quilt that a woman who lives there is well known for making.

This place was made for you! Such beautiful images...but perhaps because you use the camera so artfully...maybe anywhere you go you would find beauty. Still, this artwork is exquisite. Enjoy!!
