Another Friday

It is the end of a full week of teaching and my first exam. I went to a lunch meeting and one of the other faculty members told everyone at the meeting that the students were in her office, before a test no less, raving about how much they like me. How do I say this without sounding conceited? Students usually love me... it was only in recent years at that other place that beat the spirit out of me that I actually had students who didn't love me. It was nice to hear that my current students were raving about me and to feel real joy in teaching again.

It's been nice having Joe and Shea here, now I can hardly wait to be in the house. Tomorrow I am moving them down to Berea. Berea College is an interesting college that requires the students to do 10 - 15 hours of work at the school including working in their crafts workshops. Berea sells these traditional Kentucky crafts in their gift store in support of the school. They are especially well known for their brooms. They also do woodwork, ceramics, games, Shaker furniture and wrought iron... http://www.berea.edu/studentcrafts/ This is the url for their online catalog. We plan on having lunch at their Tavern and checking out the crafts.

Tomorrow Vickey, Pat and Brenda will be heading out to BINGO without me. I do miss them all and wish them the best with their daubers!
