As I was getting ready to leave for the Norton Simon and Peggy's, Ray - with Deni's help - was moving and planting roses. Being Ray, he first had to plan where each rose should go based on the potential height of each plant and color of the roses. You can see to the right of the roses where the plants used to be. It was quite a project and I'm sure it will look quite nice this spring and summer.
What can I say about having to opportunity to get together with women I have know for over 22 years (some of them anyway) and I started meeting with them as a group over 18 years ago. It has probably been more than 4 years since we all got together as the Improv. The Improv started as an "enjoy the company" group as well as a "get away from kids and husbands for an evening (or sometimes a weekend)" group. So when Doris offered to give me some of her frequent flier miles so I could go, what else could I do but go. If you've read the last few blogs, you know it turned into a delightful and relaxing vacation, although busier than I realized once I looked back on it for the blogs. The utter comfort level of being with women you don't feel the need to dress up for, compete with, impress in anyway. We gathered at Peggy's - she loves to cook and has a hot tub! Everyone brought cheese and crackers and wine to start out the evening. Lots of good conversation - both catching up and reminiscing. Sharing photos of now grown children. I think we hot tubbed and then ate or maybe we ate and then hot tubbed. Either of which was followed by chocolate fondue for dessert. Lots of conversation and then we played "Apples to
Apples" a game I had never heard of before, but was lots of fun.
