Seattle Central Library

One of Shea's requests was to see the Central Branch of the Seattle Public Library. In an art appreciation class, this building was sited for its interesting architecture. The children and adults were all happy to go to the library. I am always happy for photo ops. It is an impressive building in a number of ways and as always the kids were cute as heck.

This is the view from the 10th floor. Made us wonder about suicides, but a search of the internet did not turn up any stories. Maybe depressed people don't go to libraries.

Can you pick out which one is Grandpa Tommy?

The all red floor.

One of several yellow escalators (there is also an orange stairwell).

Okay - so way more pictures that usual, but I did say the kids were cute as well as the architecture interesting.

Beck and Yogi and Shea took turns jumping on these M&M shaped seats.

Shea, of course, had to see if he could clear all three.

All the little kids took time to climb on this railing next to a small ramp. This finally pushed the librarian to get stern and inform them they must keep their feet on the ground. I really expected the lecture much earlier when Shea made an enormous amount of noise jumping over the 3 M&Ms.
