Electricity, etc

Well, no pics yet, but they will come soon. We finally got our electricity back last night at 9 PM. It was out since Tuesday around 2 or 3 PM. No heat (it was down to 16 degrees one night) no showers or hot water either. We still don't have cable, so no internet or TV. I am up in Lexington to see the endocrinologist about my new diagnosis and new medical regime - so I stopped at the library and am using their wi-fi - not for long though as I have to get going to the doctor's office. Hopefully the cable will be back soon or the boys will have to drive up to Lexington to see the Superbowl! Oh, and the basement flooded because the sump pump stopped working - arghhh. Anyway, it is slowing improving. A hot shower was a great mood enhancer! More later.

Once again, I cannot imagine such extreme weather. Did you have a generator, or did you just freeze? Were you able to boil water on the outdoor grill? Did you shelter at the local high school? My Aunt in Minnesota says most people there have their own generators. But even those must be used safely. I read a report on four people in Kentucky who died from an improperly vented generator. Glad to hear you power is back!
