Last weekend I drove out to Owensboro with Casey. She went to the ROMP Bluegrass Festival. I drove on down to Sturgis, KY to interview a participant in my study. Afterwards I drove out the Garden of the Gods in the Shawnee National Forest - just another hour west into Illinois. It was fabulous. I had a great time taking photos of course.
Casey's friends getting ready to watch the soccer game - sadly it was the end of the line for team U.S.A.
On the way to Owensboro - love seeing new barn art.
and barn art on other buildings
At the Garden of the Gods - these made me think of tortoise shells
and lava
and sculpture by nature
Just plain amazing
Beautiful valley view
Trying to figure out the selfie thing. I was sitting on the rocks in the previous photo.
Lucky for the deer I wasn't driving too fast.
