In the above photo you will note the umbrellas. We had already planned a picnic in the park for today when we checked the weather forecast. It changed from a 60% chance of rain to an 80% chance to finally a 100% chance of rain. So we had pretty steady rain the whole time we were at the park. Initially we showed up with just an umbrella. After arriving at the park, we noted that the more prepared people had shelters. Joe said we still had a tent at home and Casey and Shea immediately volunteered to retrieve it. It was fun after the tent was set up and at times the rain let up enough for me to wander about and take pictures. The live music was country western and enjoyable. The last group sang one song appellate which was quite beautiful. The fireworks were great if obscured at times, mostly because the rainy weather seemed to keep the smoke from clearing out.

Shea and Casey popping out of our tent.

These people used all their resources - the shelter, two umbrella and a tarp - to keep out the rain.

Pretty fireworks.

The long line of cars leaving at the end of the evening.
