How can it be November?

This year is rushing to an end at warp speed.  Shea will be home from California soon, Dad will be here for Thanksgiving, and we will be visiting Casey in Portland for Christmas.  In October I went to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for a conference and managed a trip to the Everglades and to Butterfly World.  I'm a sucker for butterflies - they also had a variety of birds, insects and flowers as well.
 Heading into the everglades

Yes - he was close to the boat, about 8 feet long.

Reminds me of riding on giant turtles at the San Diego Zoo as a child

Children love the butterflies or are scared to death

Matching the flowers - a form of camouflage

I think this one is actually a moth

This it the outside of the bright blue butterfly the child is pointing to in a earlier picture

Almost hurts to look at the pattern
