Well, it has been a while and a busy summer all around. I had my knee
replacement on June 10th, Shea's internship turned into a paid job, so -
the biggest shocker - he moved out of the house into an apartment in
Lexington, about 40 minutes away from home but only 5 minutes from his
job. Just before the move, we got a new kitten. She is Joe's kitten so I
take no responsibility for her name "Pink". We lost one of our cats a
few months ago so we were feeling a little low in the cat department. I
got two more publications accepted this summer to make a total of 3 (I
needed 2 for going up for tenure this fall) and another that is pretty
likely with some revisions. Finally, Casey, Matt and I went to
Chattanooga to visit our friend Linda and her family who just moved down
there from Richmond and my friend Doris' daughter had her baby boy, Xaiden, the same weekend. It is a beautiful town - pics to follow in
another blog. Here are pics from Shea's apartment, the
new kitten, me shortly after surgery and Xaiden. Classes start again on Monday.
Shea's bathroom - I didn't know he had such good taste in shower curtains.

I no longer have the steri-strips or the staples or even a cane (let alone a walker)
Casey and Xaiden. He's 8 pounds and 19 inches and pretty cute.
