Murono Glass

Much of the second day in Venice was spent at the glass works on Murano.  The kids were told that the man making the unicorn has been doing glass work since he was 8 years old and he is now 60.  They were very impressed with how rapidly he made the unicorn.  Today the kids spend their last day in Milan and tomorrow they fly (yes fly - a long story) to Amsterdam.
Pretty glass art

Apparently a two man job, one to blow the air...

...and the other to form the glass.

The unicorn - it is not actually orange - just hot.

 The unicorn

 The unicorn

 The unicorn

I think this is another figurine, not the unicorn

These flowers remind of glass makers in Arizona who made similar ones only more like poppies and in desert colors.

And one more piece of art advertising a website that sells Murano glass
