Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving Shea and Casey and I went for a hike at one of our favorite places - the East Pinnacle in Berea. The temperature was in the low 40s and it was windy and on the verge of raining, but we went anyway. Tilly was there - she the one getting a belly rub in the next pic. Tilly lives 'next door' to the hiking trail and we have seen her several times. Today she opted to come with us on our entire hike. Casey and I hiked to the West Pinnacle a couple of weeks ago. At that time we were ankle deep in crunchy, noisy leaves full of autumn color. Today, the leaves are mostly brown, thoroughly trampled and make soft swishing sound instead of crunch, crunch, crunching.

Joe is spending Thanksgiving at St. Joseph's. He is doing a lot better - down from morphine to percocet. He is up and walking for short distances and is full weight bearing (sort of) on his left leg. His occupational therapist is named Casey - very confusing for me - and he (yes, the OT is a guy) graduated from EKU last year. Joe didn't really want his picture taken, so this is the nursing station, already decorated for Christmas and his daily board in his room with Happy Thanksgiving on it. He did get to watch football all day like every other all American male on Thanksgiving. I've been running up to visit several times a day. He should be going home tomorrow.
