Official start of summer

Today is the official start of summer, but before the official start Casey and Shea and I headed out to Portland to visit Pritam (well, her parents too) and Max.  Max is the sweetest dog...and I have three of my own and Gus.  His only fault if it can be seen as a fault is his incredible drive to chase squirrels right up any tree.  We went to the beach (yes in the rain) and Tillamook for the ice cream.  We ate at Clay's Smokehouse (where Casey used to work, but now located across the street), had ice cream at Salt and Straw, ate twice at the New Cascadia Traditional (a gluten free cafe) and enjoyed Mexican food at ?Por Que No? Taqueria.  On the sunny days we toured the Pittock Mansion, hiked to Latourell Falls and of course visited the Portland International Rose Test Garden.  Casey stayed a couple of extra days to visit her friends.  Shea and I had a great view of Mount St. Helens and Mount Hood on the flight out.
