Ceramics and Hiking

Casey and I are taking a ceramics class (Ceramics for Non-majors) together this semester.  The first thing we did was make 10 pinch pots and then threw them away in these large trash barrels of reclaimed clay.  So apparently in the Ceramics 4 class they made teapots and then threw them away, but artistically.  Now we are making coil pots, which Casey likes much better than the pinch pots, these we don't have to throw away.  We had a beautiful weekend after some rainy days, so Casey, Matt and I went hiking in one of my favorite spot - Anglin Falls.

 Tea pot art

This was the most creative pinch pot (this was done by an art major)

My pots, the teacher was impressed with how shiny my buffed pots were.

I went to cut flowers for a floral arrangement and found this amazing spider.

Casey and Matt at the start of the hike

Matt scaring the bejeebers out of Casey looking down the waterfall (not much water after our dry summer)

 Late summer flowers

Purple weeds, quite beautiful.

It is pretty fun. The teacher said I had to tell Casey all her work was wonderful and keep it on display in my office.
