Casey is home for the holidays. We picked her up in Louisville - about a two hour drive - at 11:35 PM on Monday night and got home to Richmond at 3:15 AM after driving almost all the way home in a driving snow storm. Lexington ended up with 6 inches of snow and we ended up exhausted and happy to be home safely. The irony is that I had changed Casey's flight from one that went through Chicago because it was suppose to snow there. If she had taken that flight, she would have been in Louisville at 7 PM, before the snow storm hit here. Ah well - there's no real way of predicting the weather. Dad came in Thursday and was nice enough to fly into Lexington - a 45 minute drive. He had some delays and adventures of his own and we had to wait 30 minutes for his luggage to appear, but all is well and it is very nice to have them both here. Yesterday was my first formal event with my new academic regalia - see dad's blog for pics. It was very exciting as my new gown arrived right at noon the day I needed at 1:00 PM. It was quite a nice little ceremony for hooding the new OT Master's graduates. More intimate than the big graduation today. Now I actually have 2 whole weeks of vacation!
